Word 2007 "Wait while Windows configures
was tasked by my business with looking at different versions of Office
because we would like to upgrade from Office 97. I looked at 97 vs. 2003 vs. 2007 vs Open Office 2.2. One of our engineering loaded the trial version of 2007 on his computer. He also had 97 and Open Office loaded on his computer. The trial version has had a persistent problem of a pop up coming up that says that Office Professional needs to configure. It doesn't need that. It also keeps prompting him for a restart. While all this is going on his email (Outlook 2003) is held hostage. He's in a key position, and really can't afford to waste a half hour or more every time he opens this program. No only that, this message seems to pop up even when he is not running office and only looking at pdf files. I have 2007 on my computer at home and I never have this problem. I have sold 2007 to this guy as being superior. Based on his experiences, I doubt I will be able to convince him. What is the problem as you see it, and what would you suggest as a fix? |
