How do you affect the vertical alignment of text within a text box?

Vertical Alignment in Text Box
Word offers only Top alignment for text in text boxes. You can either add
some Spacing Before or fill the text box with a single table cell and set the desired vertical alignment in it. -- Suzanne S. Vertical Alignment in Text Box
Hi Shelly,
To modify Suzanne's reply with a condition, if you're using Word 2007 and saving in .DocX (new file format) Word 2007 includes a built in vertical alignment capability (right click on the text box and choose Format Textbox=Textbox, or click on the launcher (square at bottom right) on the 'Text Box Styles' dialog in the Text Box Tools=Format Ribbon. ============ "Shelly Kendrick" wrote in message ... Vertical Alignment in Text Box
My situation is that the text is automatically centering itself vertically in
the text box. Apparently, that's unusual because I am told that Word only does Top alignment in text boxes. I will try what you have suggested.
