Default Hyperlink in world document

Hi all,

I really need someone to help with this.

I have hyperlinks inside many word documents(thousands of them) need to be
updated. Is there a feasible ways that i can update these links without open
each of these documents and update them manually? Or any kinds of scripts
will accomplish that? Also, anyone knows where i can find the MS word 2002
API? Thanks.
