Can't get Normal.dotx or .docm to save..as default
I followed the instructions as to set the default style to use a file I named
replace as Normal dotx at trusted templates, but I styles I want to use continues to revert to something else when I close the document. I have the style saved in a file, and have saved it as a template file, as a default setting on the styles button, but nothing works. The styles are close, but on the one I want the heading 5 reverts to something I don't won't. some of the heading are ok, but it looks as if some can be changed in the default style... |

It's _very_ difficult to understand your questions. Could you please
write in your own language? First, the file must be named normal.dotm--not normal.dotx. Second, it has
to reside where the default normal.dotm resides... if you copy it to that location, Windows invariably will ask if you want to overwrite the existing normal.dotm. There are several ways to discover where normal.dotm is. The easiest way to to click the Office button (in Word), Word Options - Advanced - File Locations (near the bottom of the scrollable window) - User Templates location. Note the location, then close Word, copy your Normal.dotm over the existing one (you can rename the existing one first, if you're concerned about losing customizations it contains). Then re-start Word and see if your modified styles are now being used. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "bretsharon" wrote in message ...
