Office 2003/XP differences!
I've finally settled down with Word for Office 2003/XP, but a couple of
things bug me and I wonder if there are settings I can change. First, the icon for 'repeat' (circular arrow) does not do some of the things that it did in Office 2000. For instance, if I highlight a word and change the font, I can no longer highlight other words and hit 'repeat' to change their font similarly. Depending on what action was just performend, the 'repeat' icon actually grays-out. Also, changing paragraph formatting in tables can't be repeated. Can the old functionalities be restored? Also, where do you turn off the command the formats the next paragraph _exactly_ like the one you just typed? If the first word of paragraph 1 is bold, the first word of the next paragraph will be made bold too. Many thanks, Jim |

Many changes made from the Formatting toolbar can't be repeated with Ctrl+Y,
F4, or Redo. The same changes can be repeated if you make them in the corresponding dialogs (Format | Font, Format | Paragraph). The Table Properties dialog is an abomination; you can get around a lot of its limitations by using the old Table | Cell Height and Width dialog; see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...ePropProbs.htm -- Suzanne S. You're right again, Suzanne;
To use redo for font formatting, instead of just changing the font in the toolbar, I used Format/Font. THEN a redo would let me similarly change other words I highlighted. Of course Word 2000 was easier, but this is workable. Thanks! |
