Default What is the expected Word Behaviour when closing the last document?

Hi all,
we have a user on the network who claimed that if she closes all of the Word
documents using the "Close Window" box on the right hand side of the menu
bar (leaving Word open with no document loaded), after a length of time Word
would close itself down.
Now today, if she closes the last document in this way, Word immediately
closes down ie she can't leave it open without a document loaded anymore.

I don't see any references to the expected behaviour in the help files -
does anyone know?

Word 2003 running on XP Pro SP1

Thanks

Ed

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=555169 "WD: Word Quits
Unexpectedly When Selecting a Document from the Windows Taskbar".
