Default Any one have trouble with Word 2003 tracked changes, etc.?

Ok, since we've have converted to Windows XP with Office 2003 we've been
having trouble in Word 2003. It seems that since tracked changes are a
"default" (would love to know how to get rid of that) we have run into not
being able to get rid of some hard returns an pages breaks? Anyone else
having this trouble?
