Default Wrong WAB

I expect to get flamed, but I've looked at every help menu I can find.

I reinstalled Office XP (don't ask) and my email icon in Word vanished. I
don't use Outlook, but installing it restored the icon. I want to use my
Outlook Express WAB, but Word insists on using a blank Outlook WAB.

How can I redirect Word to use my OE WAB?

The Outlook address book is actually a PAB. Word cannot use the OE address
book (WAB), as it must use a MAPI-compliant address book. See “WD2000: Which
Address Books Can Be Used with Mail Merge, Envelopes, and Labels Features?”
at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=269111

Somehow, I did it. My PC used the OE addresses for email before the
reinstallation, and my laptop is still set up that way.

I might not have been clear. I’m only talking about email
addresses, not a mail merge. My mail merge addresses I keep in an Access dB
and export to Word as needed.

If you have Outlook Express set as your default mail client (in Control
Panel | Internet Options), then you should be able to use the OE address
book when you send emails from Word.
