FIX MSWord's horizontal measure; "Column" is not acceptable!
I see that the default display of horizontal position is some measure
called €śColumn.€ť It seems to be a count of characters, spaces and tabs to the left of the cursor, not the physical position of the cursor in inches or millimeters. I assume the €śColumn€ť default is an archaic remnant from the days of fixed-point type (e.g., Courier) that has never been upgraded to accommodate modern-day fonts. Is there some way (that I have not found) in Customize or Options, or elsewhere, to change the bottom display line to show a more realistic measure of the cursors horizontal position? ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
