How does one type a 1/2 space in a WORD document? Thank you.

There's no built-in way to do this, but you can type an ordinary space and
condense it, or you can find (in some fonts) a "thin space" or "hair space."

If you don't know about thin and hair spaces, why are you trying to insert
half a space?
