Ctrl + Shift + * (asterisk). You turned on "Formatting marks" (Show/Hide on
your toolbar next to your Zoom level--you can click that icon). Alternately: ToolsOptions, on the View tab under Formatting marks unckeck All. Just to be picky for a minute, as this is a very common mistake ...
The shortcut is Ctrl+*, not Ctrl+Shift +anything. If the asterisk character on a particular keyboard needs a shift to get it then, yes, you will have to press Shift but it is not inherently part of the shortcut key combination. -- Enjoy, Tony "SVC" wrote in message ... Precisely, and this is why it is better stated as Ctrl+* rather than
Ctrl+Shift+8, as the latter is applicable only on U.S. keyboards. -- Suzanne S.
