Default Why do lines disappear?

I have document to print an address on the back of a page to show in an
envelope window. I have "folding" lines on each side of the page. When I
highlite the text and type in the addresses the lines disappear. Any idea
how to keep this from happening?

How are you inserting the line? Use Borders and Shading and your lines
shouldn't disappear.

I used the drawing toolbar and positioned short lines on each side to guide
where to fold the paper.

So in other words, you have a line and then text and then a line on the other
side of the text?

No. I have an address which I change for each mailing. then, about 5 lines
down I have a line on each side of the page, near margins. about 1/2" wide to
guide me in folding so that the address can be seen in my envelope windows.

The only thing that pops into my feeble little mind this afternoon is that
perhaps when you enter your text, you're pushing the lines out of whack so
that they can't be seen.

I figured it out. The lines were anchored to the last paragraph mark. As
long as I leave that it is OK. Thanks
