Default how do I change my TOC's appearance?

I have 5 Heading levels I'm using throughout my document which are tying up
to my TOC. However I want my actual TOC to appear such that each level is
indented accordingly. For instance:

Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5

I have tried to manually highlight the appropriate line in my TOC and indent
them - but the formatting doesn't stick upon hitting "Update Table."

Suggestions?

You probably need to modify the TOC styles.

The way to do it is to select Format - Styles and Formatting. That should
make the task pane open on the right of your screen. Then put your cursor in
a TOC 1 row. Since each TOC row has two styles assigned to it ("Hyperlink"
and "TOC X"), use your arrow keys to move the insertion point to where the
TOC style appears in the top window of the task pane. Then right-click on
the TOC style name and select "Modify."

From that point, you can modify the style as you wish, and it will be saved
when you close. You'll need to modify all of the TOC styles you want to have
appear in your finished document.

I hope that helps.

Thank you VERY much. This did the trick...even though I'm in the '07 Beta!
Thanks again.
