Hi there,

Am using Word 2003 and the pictures are not showing in any of my documents
(I always work in Print Layout view) except under certain conditions like
when I go into Print Preview mode. Instead of the picture in Print Layout
view I simply see a rectangle which holds the place of the picture.

I have already checked to make sure that 'Picture Placeholders' is not
checked.
I have also checked to make sure that 'Drawings' is checked.
When I select the picture the rectangle has black squares on it's borders.
When I right click and get the picture toolbar up most of the options are
shaded out meaning I can't choose them.

Can anybody help me figure out how to display the pictures?

Is the picture positioned "In line with text" (Format | Picture, Layout tab)?
If so, check the Line Spacing (Format | Paragraph, Indents and Spacing tab)
of the paragraph where the picture was inserted. Make sure it is *not* set to
an exact amount.
