Default citation et al

I have Word 2007 Ultimate, how do I make a citation that has four or five
names in the reference appear as (Smith et al 2007), instead of (Smith,
Johnson, Black, Griffin, Turner 2007)?

Try the so called "Ghost name" style for citing in context ;-)
