I should have mentioned (since it is obviously relevant here) that "Book
fold" in Word swaps the Inside and Outside margins. This is a bug, and it
isn't obvious unless the Inside and Outside margins are significantly
different.

I suspect the page numbers are outside the printer's printable area,
which
is usually larger on the trailing edge of pages (often the right side of
landscape pages) and can be quite large (half an inch or more) on inkjet
printers.
