Default Set header and footer as non printing

Yes, there is: say you position a table cell in the header, with an
exact line height, put a picture of your logo etc. in there, inline, and
format it as "hidden" (Format | Font).

Then make sure that Tools | Options | View is set to display hidden
text, but | Print is set not to print it.

I usually only do that for templates where the users might a) not have
access to the office printer (at home etc.), or when they might create
documents to be printed on paper as well as into a PDF (then with
"hidden" displayed _and_ printed).
