If Heading 4 hasn't been used in your document, then pasting it in from your
collaborator's document will copy his style to your document. But note that
you do have Heading 4 in your document; it's just not being displayed
because you haven't used it yet. If you ask Word to display All Styles in
the Styles and Formatting task pane, or press Shift while clicking the arrow
beside the Style box on the Formatting toolbar, you will see a much longer
list of styles.
You can also use the Organizer to copy styles from one document/template to
another, but in this case it should not be necessary.

hi all,
wxp pro sp2, office 2003 sp2,
one of my collaborator had just sent me a document which contained
customed
heading (Heading 4). in my current document to which i will be 'grafting'
my
colleague's document, i have only up to Heading 3 (this is Office Word
2003
built-in Headings). my question is whether: 1. i should create this
heading 4
(and how can i create it to be exactly the same as my colleague's, or
better
still, how can i copy Heading 4 style/formatting) or 2. the 'brute force'
way
of just ctrl-A then copy and paste across document would take of the
issue.
thanks for advice/help.
