Default When send email it opens as wordpad

If you are sending Word document files and she is unable to open them then
1. Ensure the document is not corrupted in transit by using a zip utility
such as Winzip to compress the file.
2. Documents should always be saved to the hard drive before attempting to
open them.
3. If the recipient's PC opens Word documents in WordPad instead of Word -
point her to How to re-register Word when problems crop up opening files
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm as it won't only be
your documents she is having problems with.

It doesn't matter if you don't have "Office". That's a collection of
programs, not a specific program. Are you creating the file with
Word? Are you saving it as a .doc file? If so, then the problem is
probably on her end. Ask her if the attachment says the name is
blahblah.doc (the blahblah part would be the name you chose). If not,
there's something funky in the emailing part. If so, the funky part
is the end user. ;-) It could be that her file associations are
messed up *but* before you say that to her (which will certainly
irritate her), find out about the FULL name of the file she receives.

She says she does. She is telling me I don't have the full office
program. But I'm pretty sure I do. Any more help would be
appreciated. Thanks! --

I am sending a word document as an attachment through yahoo email
address.
On
my end it says that it is an application/msword. But the person I
am sending
it to says it opens in word pad and she is not able to view it.
Can someone
tell me why this is happening and how to correct. Thanks for your
time, --
