Thanks for your comments. Actually, I need to insert a textbox. It has to be
a textbox, a text form field won't do for what I want. Do you know if there's
any way I can insert a textbox and still be able to access it when the
document is protected? Like I said, I tried inserting the textbox in an
unprotected section of the document, but it won't work.

If you used Insert | Text Box or the button on the Drawing toolbar, this is
the problem. You need to insert a Text Form Field from the Forms toolbar.

I'm trying to insert a textbox in a protected document so users can enter
information on it, but Word won't allow me to enter text in the textbox
once
the document is protected. I divided the document into several sections so
I
could protect or unprotect each section depending on whether I wanted
users
to input information or not on a particular section (ToolsProtect
documentFilling in form). It seems that even though I have inserted the
textbox in a particular section of the document (marked as unprotected),
Word
assigns it to another section.
Is there any way I can have functional textboxes in a protected document?
