Default How do I recover a file?

If you haven't shut down your computer, there's a good chance. Go back to
the original file and open it. Then select "Save As," but DO NOT SAVE. At
the top of the Save As screen, there's a field that says "Save In." Click on
the down arrow next to that field and write down the complete path to the
temp directory where your e-mail program saves files.

Then open Word and use the Open command to navigate to the same temp
directory and see if the file is there. If you've been living right, there's
a good chance it will be there. Some programs empty that temp directory
every time you shut down, though.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

I opened a word file from my google account and worked on it, saving as I
went along. I then closed the file without saving it to my computer. I now
can't find the document with the changes I made. The email which has the
original document attached does not have the changes saved.

Thanks for your help.
