Default grouping text and autoshapes

Hi Roger,

One way that seems to work (I'm using Word 2003, not sure about 2000) ...

Put the text into a text box and set the text box's wrapping style to be
something other than in line with text (right-click the text box, choose
"Format Text Box", click the Layout tab and select, for example, "In front of
text").

Once the text box is not in line with text you should be able to select the
box and the line using the selection tool on the Drawing toolbar or by
holding down the Ctrl key and clicking each item.

Once they are both selected you should be able to group them and cut and
paste special. (I'm not sure that you really even need to group them for this
purpose.)

Regards.

Ed

I am using word 2000 and I want to create a simple logo consisting of text
and a straight line formed in autoshapes. I would then like to group the
elements together and paste- special the result as a picture. I cannot see
how to group the text and autoshape together ( have tried it both with and
without enclosing the logo in a text box). Would appreciate any available
assistance, Thanks
