I have Word 2002. I cannot use smart tags. They don't appear. I have read
many, many help pages all over the internet and I have checked all the
appropriate boxes in Auto Correct options, and in Tools/Smart Tags.
Everything is checked and enabled, it appears. I have tried reinstalling the
software from the CD, and tried unchecking everything and checking it again.
No luck. What am I doing wrong?

Often, the reason SmartTags don't work is because you have a language conflict.
SmartTags are usually language-specific. With the cursor in text where you
expect a SMartTag to appear, go to Tools/Language/Set language. Is it English
(or whichever language version of Word you've installed)?
