Default Word document repair utility

Well, that didn't work. I also followed the instructions in
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm
No dice.

Any suggestions? I'm at the point of removing Office 2003 and reinstalling.
I hate doing that because if the problem occurs again, I still have no
solution.

Yes and yes...

Use the File Open dialog. Select the document file with a single
click. Then click the down arrow next to the Open button and choose
"Open and Repair" from the popup menu.

Word documents do sometimes develop problems because of the way
they're constructed. It may or may not have anything to do with
multiple languages. See
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm.
