Default stopping text from jumping to next page?

Adding text on a page is bound to force subsequent content down. There's no
way around this. But see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BottomLine.htm

A Document containing several pages has the irritating habit of altering

the
whole document when editing a row on the first page ( maybe just adding a

few
words). Is there any way of preventing Word from automatically moving the
text on subsequent pages.
