Default Keyboard equivalent to double-click to select word

I know you can select words with CTRL+SHIFT+ R/L ARROW, but this
requires that the insertion point be at the beginning/end of the word.

Can I use the keyboard to select a word regardless of where the
insertion point is within the word?

In other words I would like the equivalent of using the mouse to
select a word by double-clicking on any part of the word.
