as a follow up to my problem of installing office 2003 with Vista OS...again
the attempt failed .. so did a program called "Windows installer" it stalled
out for 2 hours , I selected cancel .. it stalled also , I opened the task
manager to kil it..
that caused the installer program to run .. for 10 seconds .. appeared to
complete what it was suppose to do. then the cancel came to the task manager
and it was closed Yes this was a replay of the same sequence on this effort
as before.
I closed it al, rebooted and then tried to open any of the office programs..
same error message about "the OS not being configured for this application "
still stuck with office not working.. hope this detail helps to steer the
solution
