This new printer is fussy in that it requires the formatting of Word to
point to its "Tray1", otherwise it refuses to work.


Word doesn't "point" to any sort of tray - that's the function of the
Printer setup. As long as this new printer is set as default, and the Paper
Source in the Printer setup is set as tray 1, then you shouldn't need to
change anything else....
