Default Spell Checker asks for Office 2000 disks

Before reinstalling Windows, I'd simply do a repair installation of Office
2007. But before that, why not try using the Microsoft Installer Cleanup
Utility? you can search for it at microsoft.com. Most of the time, when a
program asks you for the installation disks, its because there are leftover
installation files on the hard drive (occasionally, its because you are
wanting to use an advanced function that didn't get installed). Not sure if
this will work in Office 2007 but it sure did with 2003.

Hi all.

I used to run Office 2000 but uninstalled it and installed Office 2007.

When I run Word the Spell Checker does not function. When I try to run it,
the computer tries to install it and then asks for the Office 2000
installation disks.

I insert the Office 2000 disks but then it then says it can't find the MSI
file.

I have downloaded and installed the following but there is no difference

latest version of the MSI file
Office 2007 Service Pack 1
Word 2007 update (KB934173)

I have scanned my hard disk for any remaining office 2000 files. In
Add/Remove programs there is a option showing Microsoft Office 2000 but no
remove option.

I have uninstalled Office 2000 and 2007 several times and ran several
registry cleaners.

I have also noticed when I enter several websites, it asks for the Office
2000 installation disks.

Any ideas anyone will be most gratefully appreciated.
