The Restricted Access/Permission commands are used in conjunction with
Information Rights Management and also requires some type of server, such as
Windows Rights Management to be used. IRM provides the ability to identify
who is allowed to access the file and what they can and cannot do, such as
copy or print the contents.
Restrict Formatting and Editing is for document collaboration and protecting
a document for filling out forms, tracked changes, read-only, etc.
If you're still not sure what the options do then perhaps you could tell us
what you are trying to do and we'll go from there. :-)

Okay, I'm back with more questions.
1. What is the difference between Restricted Access, Restrict Permission
and Restrict Formatting and Editing?
2. I can not click in the box to Restrict Access and I can not click the
Restrict Permission. It does not allow me. The icon is there, but when I
click on the check box for "Restricted Access", the check mark goes in and
then goes away. The icon for Restrict Permission is gray. When I try to
click on it, it does nothing. So, are they "locked" for some reason?
Thanks!
Michelle
