is there a way to tag a Word file with the path and file name as in

If you mean you want that information in a header or footer, or somewhere
else in the document's text:

In Word 2003 and earlier, that's an AutoText entry named "Filename and
path", which you can insert from the Insert AutoText menu.

In Word 2007, Microsoft neglected to include any default AutoText entries,
but it's easy to create this one.

- Press Ctrl+F9 to insert a pair of field markers, which look like { } .
- Between the markers, type filename \p
- Press F9 to update the field.

Then select the field and press Alt+F3 to make it a Quick Part (in the
dialog, you can change the Gallery setting from "Quick Part" to "AutoText"
if you wish).

This field can be put into a template so that all documents based on the
template will display their path and filename values. You may have to update
the field manually by clicking in it and pressing F9, for example after
using the Save As command.

Hello Jay - I just tried that and while the file name appears the path does not. Is there a space after the filename and before the back slash p?
