I am also having trouble with compatability mode and did as you suggested
with the convert command. Although I no longer see the words "compatability
mode" at the top of my document I still cannot use any of the functions such
as highlighting text to bold, underline, etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Chris

I wanted to tell her about "Convert," but I couldn't find it -- does
it appear only when a .doc is open?

I opened a Word 2003 doc and the next time I opened 2007 it is in
Compatability Mode. How do I return to normal.?
If you want to update the file and not save a copy in the .doc
format then click the Office Button and then click Convert. If you
want to save both a .doc and a .docx copy then as "grammatim"
suggested, use Office Button/Save As/Word Document.
