Strange. For some reason, Word seems unable to combine the lists into one.

You would probably have more luck applying the List Number style to text,
which was my second suggestion in my previous message. Note that you can
modify the style to suit your needs.

Thanks for the answer, but I tried that and the dropdown Autocorrect
Options
thingie appears reading "Reset Number", but the number stays as 2. The
only
thing I see happening when I right click the "Continue Numbering" is the
cursor jumps from the "2" to the beginning of the text.
