Default Merge with Numbered List

You could try copying the format of a previous list item (select it and press
Ctrl+Shift+C) and then paste it to the problem list items (select them and
press Ctrl+Shift+V); then the list should continue properly.

Having said that, I'd like to repeat that using a numbered style would be
easier and safer. :-)

Click the number 2 (the second "copy" that is) to select it. Then
right-click and choose Continue Numbering from the context menu.

Thanks for the answer, but I tried that and the dropdown Autocorrect Options
thingie appears reading "Reset Number", but the number stays as 2. The only
thing I see happening when I right click the "Continue Numbering" is the
cursor jumps from the "2" to the beginning of the text.
