Did you make sure to change *all* of the color options (in the dialog box) to
"By author"?

I did confirm that the machines are set to "By Author". So,
unfortunatley, I don't think that is the issue.

I have several users tracking changes in a word document. All users

on 2003, with settings to assign color by author. One user sees

with each author as a different color. The other two users see all the
changes as the same color, however when you hover over the the change
the correct user is identified as making the change. I am using Office
2007 and can also see changes by color.
Are there any security or other settings that could prevent changes
from
being tracked by color, even though different authors are identified?
