Thank you for that useful piece of information (as I wrote in reply to Peter as
well). The problem definitely isn't limited to a particular news server or to
particular software then...

As far as Windows Live Mail is concerned, I use it myself for the most part. I'm
not entirely happy with it, but the newest version seems more stable. (At work I
use Thunderbird, which I don't like because it doesn't handle HTML as good as
WLM when accessing the MSDN and TechNet forums via the Community Bridge.)

I am accessing the groups via news.individual.de. And I am using
Windows Live Mail (don't scold me) as Newsreader.
So it seems not to be a problem of my newsserver, and not a problem of
WLM :-).
Like you, I also missed some posts in the past.
