Hi Max-

You can do this with Bullets & Numbering, but you would have to customize
for the +/- signs as well as type the various items.

As an alternative suggestion, if you want realistic accuracy & polish, why
not take a screen shot of the Windows Explorer window and put the graphic in
your doc?

Set the Explorer (or Open, Save As, whatever) window to display as you want,
then Ctrl+Alt+PrtScrn, then rt-click in the doc where you want the image &
choose paste from the shortcut menu. Resize & modify as necessary like most
any other picture.

IMHO, that is not only more effective but also faster & easier. Why work any
harder than you have to if you can get even better results?

Hi Group,

I would like to create a file / folder hierarchy representation in a Word
document but I don't really want to be using spaces, tabs or a table. Is
there such an object or component that can be used for this purpose? A
colleague of mine suggested using Visio for this because it can handle this
sort of thing very well but we are out of licenses and this project does not
warrant purchasing a new license.

Basically I want something like this (but more polished):

drive
+----folderA
+----folderB
+----fileA
+----fileB
+----folderC

(apologies if the whitespace has been removed making the above unreadable).

Thanks, Max
