Hi Sandy,

You have a real problem there. Try to prepare your people for the idea that
the Word version of the form might not look exactly like the old ones.

Almost every possible way of creating lines in Word forms is listed at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.

For permanent fixed lines that go all the way across the page, you're
limited to paragraph borders (top & bottom), table borders, frame borders,
and/or lines from the Drawing toolbar.

For a multiline text form field, you can select the field in the template
and apply underline format to it, then protect the form. However, the
underline will appear only under actual characters typed in the field. You
may have to resort to something like drawing lines across the field and
sending them Behind Text.

I have users using word97 through word XP.

I need to create a form template with underlined fields that are the
width of the page, not just the width of the typing the user enters.
The old forms were printed forms with underlines across the page to
mark the "fill-in" areas and they want the new forms to look the same
in case they choose to print them instead of fill them in, in Word.
How do you format a field so that it will have an underline across
the page. I have a few fields that are specifically supposed to be 2
or 3 lines long as well....with underlines across each line.....help
please.

Thanks in advance, Sandy.
