Default Icons still dropping off tool bar in Word 2003

Is there a way to change it from docked to floating. I've tried dragging
and that won't work.

If it's docked it has to be a single line; if it's floating you can resize
it by dragging sides/corners (at least while the Customize dialog is
open).

I have the custom toolbar in place with one minor problem. All of the
icons I put on the toolbar got across the top in a single line. Is there
a way to break up the line into 2 lines of icons?

You have to create a new template and be working in it in order to save
the toolbar to it. You then save that template in Word's Startup folder.

In following the procedure to create a custom toolbar as described in
Word 2003 help, I found that I can only save the new toolbar in
normal.dot or document 1. How do I save it to the Word Startup folder?

In that case, the only solution is to create your own Custom Toolbar.
Add all the command icons you use regularly including the Macro
command buttons you created. Now use your Custom Tool bar and close
the Standard and Format Toolbars. If you are like me, you probably
only use a few of those commands regularly anyway. Save this custom
toolbar to a completely new template - call it CustTB.dot. Place the
template in the Word Startup folder. It will be automatically loaded
when Word is started.

The adaptive menus are disabled.

Are you sure that Adaptive Menus are disabled (Show Full Menus)?

On June 30 I posted a message regarding the icons from 4 of my
personal macros unexplainably dropping off the Word 2003 tool bar.
I have done everything Graham, Suzanne and Stefan have suggested
but it continues to happen. I have gone to Toolscustomize and put
the icons back in place on the tool bar countless times but it
continues.

I want to add that this started occurring the same day I made some
changes to my Outlook Email [no registry stuff]. I have three
other computers and the icons disappearing has never been an issue,
using the exact same macros. Word continues to be my email editor
for Outlook.

Any other suggestions?
