Default Protect a table layout

You disabled auto resizing and set a preferred width for each column?

Since it is the column width you seem to be attempting to control, did
you
disable auto resizing?

To prevent the table from resizing, if that's what you are trying to
do,
also specify a fixed height for each row (Row tab of the Table
Properties
dialog box).

I'm trying to protect a table layout which has been created in word,
but want to be able to edit the text within the tables colums and
rows
