Default Dialog boxes as task panes; "tear-off" menus

Don't hold your breath, as the Office 2007 UI will be completely different.
But you can increase the size of the Open and Save dialogs by dragging the
bottom right corner or maximize them by double-clicking the title bar.
Unfortunately, you can't keep them open.

It would be great if users had the option of displaying large,

multi-option
dialog boxes as a task pane. For example, I constantly need to open
documents. It would be great if I could make the Open dialog box appear as

a
task pane. That way I could access folder contents with less navigating

and
clicking.

Another helpful option would be "tear-off" drop-down menus. For example,
imagine opening the Font drop-down menu (or any other one on a toolbar),

then
dragging the opened menu down into the workspace, where it would remain

open
until you close it. (This used to be a feature in FrameMaker, which I

found
very helpful.)

Is there any chance of such features in a future release of Office, or at
least Word?

Thanks!
