I suspect you need a Fax modem to send a fax unless you have a pay
service over the Internet that takes care of it for you. You need
contact with a telephone line.

Please help me, how do I send a fax from my fax machine after i
finish typing letter in microsoft word 2003 from the file menu?

There should be a 'Send to' on the file menu. Select 'Fax
Recipient'; then the fax wizard opens which will guide you from
there.

Sorry to but in, but I have the same question.

I have Word 2002 and went to 'Send to" and then 'fax recipient', but
I got stuck when I got to the "Fax Software" screen. The "Microsoft
Fax" selection
was grayed out and instead I was given a list of my printers.

I am using XP Home and am connected to the internet via a router and
a cable modem. How do I install Microsoft fax? Is it part of Word or
part of XP? Is there a better software to install for faxing
documents from Word? Thanks.
