Default Word 2003 Favorites

Thank you very much.

The Quick launch toolbar is nothing to do with Office 2003. It is a Windows
function, by default at the bottom of your Windows display area. Right click
the Windows taskbar then Toolbars check quick launch toolbar. You can add
shoirtcuts there as required.

I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to get your favorites back into the open dialog
box in Word 2003?

See http://www.gmayor.com/customize_the_word_places_bar.htm

2. Is there a substitue for the office shortcut bar?

If you have the earlier version of Word, the Office shortcut bar
will still work, though frankly the Windows quick launch toolbar has
rather made it redundant.
