Word can do either... depends on what you tell it to do. If you paste
the image in, then the image is stored as part of the Word document. If
you paste link the image in, then the image is linked to an external
source instead of stored in the document. Press Alt+F9 to display field
codes, and you will see the picture replaced with either an { EMBED }
field for the former or a { LINK } field for the latter. Press Alt+F9
again to switch back to display of field results.

Garfield-n-Odie,
Thank you so much! That works great!!!!

One more question. Does the word document store that background

image

(placed within the header) inside the word doc? or does it link to it?

I am hoping it holds all the info, so i can just send the word doc.

Thx!!

Insert the graphic into the header, right-click on the graphic,
left-click on Format Picture | Layout | Behind text | OK, and drag the
graphic to any desired position on the page. Close the header. Then
type your text.

Hi,

I have a word document and I would like to lock down a large graphic

in

the

background. It is just a .jpg that I have created in Photoshop. The

idea

is to

have that graphic locked down in the background so it is not

clickable,

but

the text placed on top would be editable/clickable.

I am not sure Word has this capability, but would appreciate it if

anyone

knew and they could pass along the info.

Thanks,
