Default How do I edit text of a scanned document?

Graham,

I am experiencing the same problem (scanned documents sent to Word 2003
appear in Word with frames around each paragraph). Your CTL+A, then CTL+Q
really helped. Tell me, what is OCR software?

This is one of the limitations of poor OCR software - it makes a dog's
breakfast of the formatting. You would be better scanning it to a plain text
file which cannot contain text boxes, and format the document yourself.

I used OCR to scan a document to Word format. The problem I face now
is that all the text appear in little "text boxes" which makes it
difficult for me to edit. Is there any way I can prenvent the text in
the many little text boxes. Thanks
Anup

If you've scanned the text as a picture, you have to OCR it to make
it editable. Your scanner probably came with an OCR app such as IRIS,
TextBridge, or OmniPage.
