Default how to set word 2002 default footer font

Note, however, that the Header and Footer styles should be Arial already if
you have really changed the default font (that is, the font of Normal style)
since they are based on Normal.

I just don't get this. My default font in Word 2002 is Arial. Every
single time I go to footer, however, the freaking font flips to Times
Roman. Not for lack of searching, I have yet to find a tip on how
this happens or how the default font for a footer can be set so I
don't have to waste so much time.

Thanks anyone!!

Word automatically applies a style named Footer to the footer text (and a
style named Header to the header text). To change it to Arial, click the
down arrow next to Footer in the Style & Formatting task pane, click

Modify,
and change the font there. Check the box for "Add to template" so the

change
is stored in the Normal.dot template. If Word asks to save changes to
Normal.dot when you exit the program, say yes.
