Default Word 2003 question - where are autotext entries saved?

AutoText entries are always saved in a template -- they can't be saved in
documents.

If you don't deliberately change the location, they'll be saved in your
Normal.dot template.

To change to another template, use the Insert AutoText AutoText dialog
instead of the Alt+F3 shortcut, and change the Look In dropdown. The "All
active templates" item refers only to showing existing entries; if you make
a new entry while that's selected, they go into Normal.dot. Also note that
the Look In dropdown contains only active templates -- that is, Normal.dot,
any global templates (that is, ones stored in Word's Startup folder), and
the template on which the active document is based if that isn't Normal.dot.
