Default word should provide a vertical screen split

Note also that in Word 2003 you have the option of "Compare Side by Side"
(on the Window menu), which can be used for two different documents or two
views of the same document (using New Window).

If you check the option for "Windows in Taskbar" -- which gives you a
separate window for each open document -- and minimize all but the two
documents you want to see, then you can right-click the Taskbar and choose
Tile Windows Vertically to get two side-by-side windows.

If you want to see two views of the same document, use the Window New
Window command first.

If you prefer not to check the option to have separate windows, see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...Vertically.htm for a macro
to tile documents within the single window. Despite the headline in the
article, it works in all Word versions at least up to 2003; I haven't

tried
it in 2007 yet.
