This doesn't get this portion into my new document. I still need to cut and
paste this into another document. Yes, I could do what you suggest and then
cut and paste my new document into the modified old document - but - what if
both documents have revisions marked into them and I want to perserve both
markings? Eventually, I'll have to cut and paste one portion into another.
Thanks for the workaround, but how can I get Word to do this on the
straight?

Save As to a copy of the entire document. Turn off tracked changes. Delete
the portion you do not want.
