Default Word 2007 and Headers

Does this not seem a little cumbersome?? It's not a matter of just copying
over the header information to make my first page correct, I then have to
copy everything that is included in a sidebar text box. Perhaps we should
stay with WP for its simplicity!

Once you check that box, there is a new field created, called "First Page
Header" (and "First Page Footer"). So, what you already had in your header is
still in the "Header" field. Just copy it over to the "First Page Header" on
the first page.

I tried that prior to asking the question and what happens is this -

If I click in the header section on page 2 and put a check mark in the box
beside different first page, my first page header disappears instead of page
2 header disappearing.
